GANZO's standard type of long billfold, the bills can be neatly stored without folding them. There are six vertical card pockets on the back of the cover for easy access. The compact design reduces the width of the wallet to 180mm. The wallet is thin enough to fit in the inside breast pocket of a suit or jacket.
The wallet of the CERVO series was a challenge to make thin. The natural grain unique to deerskin is utilized while making it thin. Although it may seem contradictory, wallets should be thin, strong, and beautiful. The first step is to make the leather as thin as possible, while retaining the natural texture of the deerskin tanned by the Vachetta method. Then, fluffy sheep leather is used for the lining material, which is then laminated to the cut pieces so as not to lose the original texture. Although deerskin is said to be too soft and difficult to polish the edges, GANZO focused on every detail of this product to polish and put together.
Cervo (Italian for deer skin) is a rare vegetable-tanned deerskin. It is tanned by a small tannery in Santa Croce, Italy, using only raw hides from New Zealand with the Vachetta method. The most distinctive feature of this leather is the fusion of the plumpness of the thick deerskin and the tight tannin texture.
*Vachetta method: A traditional Italian leather manufacturing method with a history of more than 1,000 years, in which all processes are done by hand. Now, this technique is only slightly inherited by a historical tannery in Florence. The texture of each piece of leather is carefully finished to produce a unique and exquisite material. The leather is tanned using only vegetable tannin and soaked with oil extracted over a long period of time, which makes for a soft finish. The more it is used, the more the aging process can be enjoyed as the oil soaked into the leather oozes.
