SHORT FILM Life is Timeless

Scratches and wrinkles that are left on articles over time become evidence of an enriched life.
Let's take a look at three stories that depict the fascinating relationships between people and leather.

STORY

Stories that connect the past with the present

The short film Life is Timeless focuses on the "power of aging," which is also a part of GANZO's identity. Scratches and wrinkles that appear on articles as time goes by are the marks of an enriched life, and the expressions of these scratches and wrinkles vary from person to person. This film depicts fascinating stories of people and leather through three separate accounts of different relationships involving lovers, friends, and a parent-child relationship.
Mysterious movements such as wind chimes, a spoon in a glass, and a flickering lamp represent the ambiguity of memory, which is not bound by time and space. These are depicted as an opportunity to travel to and meet oneself in the past or the future. In each story which captures a casual but joyful moment in life, the characters of the present and the past appear along with articles when they were new and after aging. Through these contrasts, Life is Timeless conveys the continuity of everyday life and the preciousness of leather products that are, in a sense, a projection of ourselves.

How did you first hear about GANZO?

I discovered Ganzo via Pen Magazine.

How do you feel about GANZO as a brand?

I love the GANZO brand and got inspired by it for its strong stand point of having long term product and to not follow trend while still having a strong identity.

'Echoes of Time' is an immersive film series that explores the ebbs and flows of memory and experience through the medium of film. This narrative aims to weave the brand's timeless appeal into a visual exploration of memories, moments, and the enduring legacies we carry with us.

During the making of this film, was there a particularly memorable moment that you couldshare with us?

The filmmaking process evolved in an iterative way. This concept of time actually rose while working with the product. The team and myself could not tell what was new or old on the old and aged products. That's how this idea of time was born.

Every detail of it. Like the products of GANZO that is precise and extremely crafted we had the same intention on all elements for the film.

Which GANZO item(s) do you like to use?

I love the wallet that has a specific meaning to me. Extremely useful on a day to day basis.

In your opinion, what is it about leather products that makes them so attractive and interesting?

The craft, the precision, the elegance that will age and look even better with time. That's the true definition of premium.

Given your profession, what products would you like to see in GANZO?

I think it's an important concept very much anchored in Japan and that is really lacking in the western world.。

What do you think of GANZO`s concept of “Cherishing the old”?

I think it's an important concept very much anchored in Japan and that is really lacking in the western world.

What do you think is the most important aspect of filmmaking?

Clarity of vision.
